Arabic drummers with LED costumes and glowing drums, stilt walkers whose costumes were inspired by the UAE flag colors, the latest touch screen technology that allowed guests to display their Thank You notes for the UAE Martyrs, balloon releases, and glistening, golden human statues that displayed traditional Emirati trade! These were a few of the elements that made up the JBR National Day celebrations that were experienced by over ten thousand spectators and guests over three days at the JBR Walk!

Mosaic Live set up a traditional yet modern activation along the expanse of the JBR Walk that featured an Arabic calligraphy mural, displayed UAE traditional trade & entertainment and engaged guests in the latest futuristic technology! One of the activations were focused on the UAE Martyrs and it gave the crowd a chance to pay their respects and thank them. It was named “An Ode to the Martyrs” and it included touch screen tables where guests could design and compose their Thank You notes and send it off to the skies by sliding their notes towards the towering LED screen right beside it. The notes were then displayed on the massive LED that had customized graphics created to resemble the Dubai skyline.

String Art where guests could weave designs on a panel using string wool and collective art where the community colored in the flex to create one big art piece was also a crowd favorite! The children who visited were engrossed in the traditional arts and craft kid’s corner that had custom-made tiffany chairs dressed with red, black, white and green ribbons – to represent the UAE!

Mosaic Live believes that edutainment is always essential in any kid’s corner so one of the activities was a pearl diving themed craft where children were taught about the UAE’s pearl diving trade while they enjoyed creating their crafts. The story teller also amazed children by telling them stories that were derived from UAE history.

The golden human statues whose costumes were designed like the UAE’s boat makers, spice merchants and local residents also gathered a lot of attention from the crowd. A traditional falconry display, Ayallah dancers, carpet & basket weavers also amused the guests throughout the three-day affair.

Guests took home the experience with the help of the instant photo booth that produced branded photo prints for them, within seconds! Additionally, their names were drawn in Arabic calligraphy as souvenirs! This ensured that a balanced mixture of technology and tradition was brought home by each guest.

The JBR National Day experience engaged not only the community who resided in JBR, but also the guests who came to visit The Walk. It was definitely an experience that immersed the guests in the UAE National Day spirit through the use of futuristic technology, without shying too far from tradition!
